Here at The Wave, we’re all about giving back and supporting education at any cost. So when we heard about Liberty & Justice’s UNIFORM clothing line, we couldn’t wait to help spread the word about this fair trade company’s epic philanthropy!

For every purchase from the premium, fair-trade line, Liberty & Justice donates a school uniform to a impoverished child in Liberia in an effort to send eager-to-learn kids back to school following the country’s tragic Ebola epidemic.

Drawing on Form : Visual Reports from The Vessel XII Controversy

As a way to interact with ‘Antiprism: Exploring the Vessel XII Controversy‘ at The de Young Museum, on-site columnists in the Sunset Media Wave program were invited to create two-dimensional interpretations of several sculptural forms within the installation.  Students were encouraged to draw inspiration from the basic architecture, color and qualities of an antiprism by utilizing tape to stencil off and emphasize the distinct planes of objects they drafted with various mark making techniques.  The results came out great, and I was pleased with how focused and intrigued the Wavers were with their pieces.  The project provided them with a direct way to experience and add to the ongoing story of the installation. Miss Gee: We Salute You!

Tears of joy! Campbell Gee has gone from being a perfect stranger to a brilliant contributor at The Wave to an incredible Instructor and Editor-in-Chief! True to form, Campbell continues to move forward, as she heads off to NYC, where she will attend the Fashion Institute of Technology and take the Big Apple by storm.
